Plein-air, studio workshop planned
Audubon Museum in Henderson will host a two-day plein-air and studio workshop Sept. 4 and 5. It's designed for beginning to advanced artists who are seeking more knowledge to enhance and create beautifully composed paintings.
Students will learn the fundamentals of composition and compositional studies in the studio. Weather permitting, day two will be plein-air painting in the gardens of Audubon Museum. Instruction will be by award-winning wildlife artist Devere Burt of Cincinnati. Hours will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.
The registration fee is $60 for both days. Pre-registration is required. Contact Kim McGrew at (270) 827-1893 or kim.mcgrew@ky.gov for information or registration. A supply list will be provided.
Art classes offered at Audubon State Park
Audubon State Park in Henderson will offer art classes for several ages this summer.
Pretty Princess Party will take place July 7, 14 and 21 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Audubon Castle for girls 6 to 8 years old. Sessions will include art, jewelry-making, tiaras, storytelling and a Pretty Princess Tea Party in the gardens. There is a $20 fee.
Crazy Color Art Camp, three days of painting on rocks and more, will be July 8, 9 and 10 from 9 to 11 a.m. The program is for children ages 8 to 12. There is a $20 fee.
Marvelous Mysteries, two days of exploring art using a variety of mediums, will be July 15 and 16 at Audubon Museum in Henderson for children ages 6 to 8. Sessions will be 9:30 to 11 a.m. There is a $15 fee.
Tiny tots classes, Summer Art with Tots, will be offered the first Friday of each month from 10:30 to 1:30 a.m. for 3- to 5-year-olds. There is a $10 fee. Pre-registration is required for each of the classes.
