Mini-VBS Summer Splash under way
Nebo News
By Debbie Daugherty, Nebo Correspondent
Greetings to everyone from the west end of the county. It has been hot, hot, hot. I hope by the time this column comes out, that we will have at least had temperatures lowered to the high 80s or low 90s. Our poor dog will not leave the shade of the porch and his ice cube filled water bowl.
Our VBS at Liberty was a success. We all enjoyed Boomerang Express. Those songs are still running through my head. We are now in the process of having Summer Splash each Wednesday night from 6:30 to 8 p.m. This is a type of mini-VBS, but with wet games, which all the kids love. Remember, if any child needs a ride, please call the church office at 821-2687. Summer Splash will be held until school starts and then it will be time for Awanas to resume.
Congratulations to Jackie Perkins who received her RN degree. Jackie is the daughter of George and Patricia Perkins.
Ray and Vicky Jones, along with daughter, Tasha, and granddaughter, Bryli, traveled to St. Louis recently. Tasha has had some medical problems and they went to see a doctor there. While there, they decided to see the sights of the city. They went to the St. Louis Zoo and also to the Arch.
Congratulations to Ricky and Diane Terry on their 35th wedding anniversary on June 21. They celebrated by repeating their marriage vows. May you enjoy many more.
Birthday wishes go out to Debbie Higgins, June 21, Vanna Clardy, June 22, Dianne Tucker, June 22, Mike Daugherty, June 24, Norma Jaggers, June 25, Debbie Bearden, June 25 and Shirley Mather, June 27. I hope everyone enjoys their special day.
Greg and Jennifer Gobin, son, Jared, and grandma, Brenda Powell, traveled to Gulf Shores, Ala., last week. John and Charlotte Davis, along with son, Aaron, were in Gulf Shores, as well. I wonder if they ran into each other.
Congratulations to Larry and Vanna Clardy on their wedding anniversary of 44 years on June 26. May you enjoy many more.
Garnett and Mary Anna Traylor have been to Texas for several weeks. Garnett had surgery while there but seems to be doing much better. Even though they enjoyed spending time with their daughter and her family, I’m sure they were glad to get home. There’s just no place like home, as Dorothy would say.
Have a great week.
