Creation Museum was a spectacle to behold

Greetings once again from the west end of the county. Well, we made it back from Cincinnati. We had a great time, even though it rained on us all the way there and back. The Creation Museum is a must see. It is a state-of-the-art masterpiece. Plan on staying all day, at least, to see all of the exhibits. We also went to the aquarium where Dylan petted sharks and other species of ocean life. I kept telling him to wash his hands. Smile.

Wilson Conrad celebrated his 10th birthday with a sleepover at his house. His mom, Toni, endured four rowdy boys who finally fell asleep at 4 a.m.

Thomas Jennings turned 11 years old on Oct. 20. Thomas' sister, Hannah, is on the road "legally" now. She received her driver's license and took over mom Patsy's SUV, I think. Hannah also taught her mom how to text so she can keep up with her whereabouts. Fun times ahead for the Jennings household.

Elaine Anderson will be the big 6-0 on Halloween. I hope she doesn't fret much over that milestone. I read in a magazine that 60 today is the 40 from yesterday, so Elaine, just keep telling yourself that. I do. Smile.

Paul Rose celebrated his birthday on Oct. 18 and so did Charlet Fuller. Richard Short celebrated on Oct. 21 and Carol Strader on Oct. 22. Lanna Vincent also celebrated her birthday on Oct. 22. I hope everyone enjoys their special day.

I want to extend my sympathy to the family of Brenda Canode, who passed away last week. Bro. Guy Gibbons has had a stroke. Please keep him in your prayers, as well.

Vanna Clardy has done it again. She won third place in St. Jude's "Quilt of Dreams" contest for the best quilt in the Kentucky-Tennessee division. The contest was sponsored by Hancock Fabric. She won a big yellow rosette ribbon to add to her awards.

J.C. and Eula Nichols traveled to East Orange, N. J., recently to visit with their daughter, Emily, and her husband, Fred. Their other daughter, Ellen Shelton, also went with them and did the driving. She said it took them 15 hours to make the trip but they found a shorter route that they will be taking the next time. I think I would be taking that one too.

Rosecreek Road is home to most of the deer population in Hopkins County, or so it seems. Another one "bit the dust," this time by Clay and Sherry Jones. They were on their way to our house when Bambi jumped out in front of them. I guess the automotive body shops are seeing a boost in business.

Jennifer Gobin and son, Jared, along with mom, Brenda Powell, spent a few days in Pigeon Forge, Tenn., where they enjoyed shopping (of course) and visiting the Upside Down House. Brenda said that sure was an interesting exhibit. You felt like you were in a hurricane and earthquake. Umm ... my house already looks like that at times when the grandkids leave.

Marge Duff celebrated her birthday on Oct. 21 but sister, Betty Jones, said she would not tell her age. Good sister. Lilly Blades is turning the big 1 year old. Lilly is the daughter of Drew and Elizabeth Blades. Kevin Strader turned 44 years old on Oct. 23. I heard that mom, Mildred Strader, fixed his favorite cake, which is a German chocolate.

Liberty Baptist Church held their monthly breakfast. Those attending were Carolyn and Gene Whitmer, Lena and Tommy Day, Dorothy Rickard, Brenda Powell, Betty Jones, Mildred Strader, Bro. Roy Finley, Larry Clardy, Shirley Mather, Gail DeMoss, Bro. Tondra and Debby, Ruth and Bill Carter, Wayne Abbott, Cowboy and Virginia Ipock.

Have a great week.
