Corinne Gray Blake

Mrs. Corinne Gray Blake, 80, of Madisonville died at 11:36 a.m. Friday, July 11, 2008, at Regional Medical Center. Born Jan. 14, 1928, in Hopkins County, she was the daughter of the late Otho Gray and Margaret Downey Gray Elliott. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Bobby Teague, in 1967. She was a retired senior clerk with the Kentucky Utilities Co. and a member of the Earlington First Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, James Harold Blake of Madisonville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Wilma Teague of Morganfield and David and Laura Teague of Henderson; a stepdaughter and stepson-in-law, Gloria and Kenneth Baker of Ozark, Mo.; two stepsons, Stephen Michael Blake of Denver and Justin David Blake of Palm Springs, Calif.; a sister, Patricia Bedwell of Elmwood, Ill.; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with the Rev. David Simpson officiating. Burial will follow in the West Kentucky Veterans Cemetery in Hopkinsville. Pallbearers will be Gerald McKinley, Craig Winstead, Eric Teague, Bryan Teague, Justin Griffin and Carl Griffin. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday and after 9 a.m. Tuesday until the services. Billy Wayne Crick

Billy Wayne Crick, 77, of Madisonville passed away Friday, July 11, 2008, at NHC Nursing Facility in Madisonville. He was born in Hopkins County on May 21, 1931, to the late Paul and Clara (Stokes) Crick. He was retired from Island Creek Coal Co. He attended Vineyard Worship Center. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Edward Crick.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ruby (Hoover) Crick; a daughter, Brenda Jones of Madisonville; five sons, Curtis (Rue) Crick, Randel (Paula) Crick, Marvin (Debbie) Crick and Roger (Lawana) Crick, all of Madisonville, and Marshall (Connie) Crick of Mortons Gap; six brothers, Wilbert Crick and Bobby Crick of Mortons Gap, Paul “Junior” Crick, Harry Crick and David Crick, all of Nortonville, and Douglas Crick of Greenville; 14 grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; seven stepgreat-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Reid-Walters Funeral Home in Earlington. The Rev. Marshall Crick and the Rev. Bobby McClain will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Nortonville. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Chad Crick, Triston Crick, Chris Crick, Ben Crick, Gary Coakley and Nicole Cates. Honorary pallbearers will be Tonya Lynn, Travis Crick, Shawn Crick, Kevin Crick, Cory Crick, Tracy Crick, Ashley Hilderbrand and Whitney Coakley. Capt. William D.‘Billy Dale’ Dent

SLAUGHTERS — Capt. William D. “Billy Dale” Dent, 69, of 736 New Hope Road, Slaughters, died Friday, July 11, 2008, at his home. William Dale Dent was born May 12, 1939, in Beech Grove to Joe and Huberta Mahurin Dent and was better known as Billy Dale to his family and friends. He was a retired captain from Ingram Barge Co., as well as a retired foreman with Peabody Coal Co., also worked at Image Paint Co. for several years and was a farmer by heart. Billy Dale was a member of the Calhoun United Methodist Church, a member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels and a Mason. He loved the rivers, farms and buying and trading. Billy Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Huberta Dent; a son, Dennis Joe Dent, who died in 1963; and his wife Janice Ford Dent, who died in 1997.

Survivors include his wife Rita Major Dent; four daughters and their husbands, Dale Ann Wilson and her husband, Ricky, of Glenville, Amy Dent Glahn and her husband, Jerry, of Owensboro, Trisha Montgomery and her husband, Brad, of Cleveland, Tenn., and Tracy Bolton and her husband, Matt, of Calhoun; his stepchildren, Mark Payne of Calhoun, Keith Payne of Glenville, Monica Seargent of Murray, Meredith Persico of Franklin, Tenn., and Mark Major of Henderson; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; 17 stepgrandchildren; a sister, Sarah Jo Hulsey of Calhoun; and three nieces.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel, with the Rev. Franklin Skaggs and the Rev. Ronnie Young officiating. Burial will be in the Calhoun Cemetery in McLean County. Friends may visit with the Dent family from 3 to 8 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Monday at Muster’s in Calhoun.

The Dent family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the St. Anthony’s Hospice, 203 W. McElroy St., Morganfield, KY 42437. Memorial contribution envelopes will be available at Muster’s in Calhoun.

Lena Ethel Dunlap

Lena Ethel Dunlap, 68, of Nortonville died Saturday, July 12, 2008, at Christian Health Center in Hopkinsville. Born in Hopkins County, she was the daughter of the late Cecil and Ruby (Wilson) Dunlap. She retired from Qualex after 30 years and was a member of First Baptist Church in White Plains. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Cecil Dunlap and William Joseph Dunlap; and a sister, Marylen Stackhouse.

Survivors include three brothers, James Estell Dunlap of Crofton, Charles Dunlap of Norfolk, Va., and Murrell Dunlap of Milton, Fla.

Services are at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bandy Funeral Home in Nortonville with Elder Walter McCoy officiating. Interment will be Tuesday in Mount Carmel Cemetery in White Plains. Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday and after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Catherine Gilbert

Catherine Gilbert, 88, of Henderson died Saturday, July 12, 2008, at Methodist Hospital in Henderson.

Memorial services for Ruth Drillette Zellich, 81, of Madisonville, will be held at 3 p.m. July 27 at Christ Lutheran Church and not at 3 p.m. today as listed in Saturday’s edition of The Messenger. The time of death was also listed incorrectly; Zellich died at 6:41 p.m. Thursday, July 10, 2008, not at 6:41 p.m. Friday, July 11, 2008.
