Charles and I want to wish all the dads a Happy Fathers Day! We also want to recognize all our Nebo Royalty Pageant Dads who really rock that runway! I want to take this opportunity to wish my dad a very special day. Madison Ramage is making the most of her summer break and musical talents! She was in Lexington at the Kentucky Horse Park, last week attending the Kentucky Bluegrass Festival Kids Music Camp along with several other members of Tomorrow's Bluegrass Stars. Madison is very excited and honored to be a member of this talented group. I know everyone is looking forward to seeing you perform!
School Awards Recognition: Congratulations go to all those making the MCC Spring Deans List! Students had to have a GPA of 3.5 or higher and be enrolled in 12 hours of classes or more to be recognized. Special congratulations go to Morgan Shea Penrod, Mallie Turnier and Christina Turnier.
Lots of summer activities are planned to keep the kids active and learning during the break. Check out the schedules at the Madisonville Public Library, YMCA and the VBS programs at area churches. The Madisonville AMC Movie Theatre is sponsoring $4 Movies and a Kidspack every Wednesday morning. Don't forget to cash in your A's on your Report Card for free rentals and 1 pizza from June 1-30 at Family Video and Marco's Pizza.
Nebo is the new home for Top Notch Wrestling! Travis and Bessie Richard of Madisonville have brought their wrestlers to the Nebo Community Center Gym at 100 South Bernard St. to entertain all ages. The next event will be Saturday, June 15. Doors open at 6 p.m. with a 7 p.m. bell. Concessions are available. Contact 270-584-2044 for info.
The City of Nebo is now accepting donations designated to repair the Union Cemetery stone fence as well as seasonal mowing and maintenance upkeep. The City of Nebo along with Knight & Sons Monument Company is overseeing the cemetery. Donations may be sent to the Cemetery Fund, P.O. Bx 173, Nebo, KY 42441. The 150 Mile Hwy. 41 & 41-A Yard Sale is June 28-29. Nebo residents are encouraged to spruce up their property to welcome visitors and set up their sales. Nebo residents may also utilize the backyard at the Nebo Community Center. Contact Mayor Karen Lantrip for info at 270-853-7253.
The Nebo Community Center is open to the public to rent for birthday parties, showers, reunions, holiday gatherings and meetings, etc. The facility has a kitchen and large room with seating for 60+. The gym has a full size basketball court and stage. The Game Room has ping pong, pool, foos ball, air hockey and more! A picnic shelter and playground are also available on a first come basis. Special Nebo Royalty birthday greetings this week go Belle Adams, Creed Winstead and Roxanne Hunter. Belle will celebrate on June 14. She is the mother of Josephine, 2017 Tiny Miss Nebo Relay. Creed will turn 5 on June 15. He is the 2015 Baby Mister Nebo. Roxanne will celebrate on June 16. She is the mother of Aydrinna, 2017 Toddler Miss Nebo Relay and 2018 Mini Supreme Little Miss Kentucky Festival.

We lost several loved ones, friends and neighbors in our communities during the past week and we send our condolences to their families.
