Greetings to and from Anton wherever you are. I have had two people ask where Anton is lately, so let me say we are east of Pennyrile Parkway 169, but I do write about people and students in the Brown Road area, as well as those that attend JMMS, even if they are not on the east side of the big highway.
Hopefully, a Hanson writer will get that area back in the news soon.
Condolences to the family of Lori Martin, wife of Mark Martin, minister of Destiny Church on Highway 85. Her loss at 57 is difficult in a family who had many relations live past 90, as Norris’s parents and Lori’s aunts and uncles have.
I saw a beautiful picture recently of four generations as Charlotte Fireline, her daughter Jennifer Fireline Wilhite and Jennifer’s daughter went to visit Geneva Laffoon for an end of summer trip. Kate Wilhite returns to school as a junior and automobile driver, as well as being a beautiful young lady inside and out.
The 2016 Tomato Fest was bigger and better than ever with table seating inside a historic barn, lots of music, Anton Fire Department folks helping with traffic and getting dunked and the master gardeners passing out bites of different flavors of tomatoes. Try the peach — it’s peachy! Though I left early, I was still the winner in the split pot drawing and got a lovely T-shirt and some cash. Wonderful night! I saw Minnie Beth Day, Janet Corum, Debbie Hoodenpyle and lots and lots of other folks. I also had my picture taken with Amanda Wright and saw the donkeys that were still in the pen. Chris, Elisabeth and Eloise once again had the social event of Anton.
