School Awards Recognition:
Special congratulations go to Natalie Nickelson who was recognized for her academic achievements at SHMS. She received the 8th Grade Outstanding Science Award, the 4.0 GPA Go for the Gold Award, Distinguished and Proficient Testing Honors and Honor Roll recognition.
Students can cash in their As on their report card for free rentals and one pizza from June 1-30 at Family Video and Marco's Pizza. Contact them for info.
The Madisonville AMC Movie Theatre will be sponsoring $4 Movies and a Kidspack every Wednesday morning this summer. Check the theater for info.
WHS yearbooks are available M-F from 8 a.m. to noon at the office. 2019 books are $25 and 2005-18 are $10 while supplies last.
The Rose Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church is starting a Wednesday evening Youth Study Group on CP Catechism at 6 p.m. on Thursday. VBS will be July 29-31. The public is invited to attend and welcome at their services. Contact Pastor, Rebecca Zahrte for info at 270-978-3328.
The Nebo Baptist Church VBS will be June 9-14 from 6-8 p.m. The theme is Giddy Up Junction, Taking God's Love to New Frontiers. Children ages 3-5 and students K-6 are invited. Contact 279-249-3687 for info.
Donations are needed for the Union Cemetery fence repair, seasonal mowing and maintenance upkeep. The city of Nebo along with Knight & Sons Monument Company is overseeing the cemetery. Donations may be sent to the Cemetery Fund, P.O. Bx 173, Nebo, KY 42441. Please include your contact info and family names buried there.
The 150 Mile Hwy. 41 & 41-A Yard Sale is June 28-29. Nebo residents are encouraged to spruce up their property to welcome visitors and set up their sales. Nebo residents may also utilize the backyard at the Nebo Community Center. Contact Mayor Karen Lantrip for info at 270-853-7253.
The Nebo Community Center is open to the public to rent for birthday parties, showers, reunions, holiday gatherings and meetings, etc. The facility has a kitchen and large room with seating for 60+. The gym has a full size basketball court and stage. The Game Room has ping pong, pool, foos ball, air hockey and more! A picnic shelter and playground are also available on a first come basis. She is the reigning Grand Supreme Miss Nebo Relay. Madelynn will turn 4 on June 11. She is the reigning Tiny Miss Nebo. Cynthia will celebrate on June 11. She is the mother of Natalie Springfield, 2017 Grand Supreme Little Miss Nebo Relay.
