Good morning Hopkins County, what a beautiful day it is here in the heart of the West Kentucky coalfield. As always, the Hardwick family hope and pray that you and yours have had a great week and that you have been blessed.

On June 6th, 1944, D-Day 75 years ago, our greatest generation of America's finest stormed the beaches of Omaha & Utah. The British and Canadian's tackled Gold, Sword, and Juno altogether 160,000 troops stormed those 5 beaches.

Freedom for all of Europe was at hand, even though the war would go on for another 11 months. June 6th will always be special in the hearts of all Americans. When you see a Veteran or an active duty military person, be sure and thank them. They truly are heroes.

I do have few belated birthdays to announce, sorry for being late. On May 13th Brenda Jones was a year older, I know Donnie made it a special day for her. On May 17th Preslee Byard celebrated being a year older. On May 22 Cayce McKenzie celebrated her birthday. On May 23rd Duncan Speirs was a year older. I do have two anniversaries to announce, Stacy & Glen Shoulta celebrated their anniversary on May 28th, and Cinnamon & Craig Shoulta celebrated their anniversary on May 29th. From all the fine folks on our little prairie, we wish each one of you the very best.

Bro John & Brenda Shoulta have left for Maine to attend a grandson's graduation. The trip started off with Brenda being under the weather. They will be back in a few days. I did ask Bro. John to bring me a couple of those Maine lobsters. He said he couldn't do that; however, he would eat a couple for me. I do pray for a safe trip.

Crystal & Kenny Lee will be spending the next two weeks with their son Timmy, and his family. Timmy has two children, a son and a daughter. I know Kenny and Crystal has already spoiled them both. They will be missed while they are gone. Penny and I are working on a garden

this year, wish us luck. As I was in the garden, I had some fond memories. My buddy Cory Scott, he would always bring his tools, equipment, and manpower to help me out. Cory pasted away much too young; Cory was a wonderful young man. Cory had a big heart, he loved people. I miss my Friend. God Has a good one in Cory.
