The Madisonville North Hopkins High School varsity football team finishes the regular season at No. 6 in the Kentucky Associated Press poll in 4A football.
The Maroons earned 58 votes by AP writers in the final poll.
North will host Warren Central on Friday beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the first round of the KHSAA playoffs.
The Maroons are 8-2 on the season while Warren Central is 0-10.
District foes Logan County is one spot behind North in the final regular season poll and Hopkinsville is honorable mention.

Maroon Magic Dance team hopes to qualify for state
Kayla Logan takes over as the head coach of the Maroon Magic Dance team at Madisonville North Hopkins High School.
“We will be attending the Kentucky High School Athletic Association sections on Nov. 17 and hope to qualify for state,” Logan said. “We will attend NDA Nationals in Orlando, Fla., Feb. 22-24.
The Maroons have nine top returning athletes this season.
Juniors Allie Potts, Emily Locke and Taylor Hunter are captains for the Maroons this season. Parker Payton, Aaliyan Murphy, Keirra Mitchell, Olivia Newcom, Ashton Carroll-Curl and Ellie Moore are athletes the Maroons will count on this season.
New athletes Kristian Fox (freshman) and I’zayis Pettus (junior) will be counted on this season, according to Logan.
