DAWSON SPRINGS – The Dawson Springs girls’ basketball team got its second straight win on Saturday, good for its first win streak of the season, with a 69-44 win over Frederick Fraize.

The Lady Panther (6-10) defense showed up at the start of the game, holding the Lady Aces (8-11) without a made basket from the field as they outscored them 19-3 on their way to victory.

Senior Malaia Miller led the Dawson offense with 21 points, while sophomore Erin Orten tacked on 12. Junior Brooklyn Cotton put up nine and freshman Denisha Randolph added eight.

DAWSON SPRINGS – The Dawson Springs boys’ basketball team suffered its fifth straight loss on Saturday, as it came up short against Frederick Fraize.

Senior Dylan Simpson led the Panthers (7-11) with 22 points, while junior Justin Putman put up 14 and junior Austin Clark tacked on six against the Aces (7-12).

MURRAY – The Webster County boys’ basketball team suffered a tough loss to Riverdale (TN) at the Polaris Shootout at Calloway County on Saturday.

Senior Ethan Gilbert led the Trojans (11-10) with 13 points, junior Chatman Ellis and sophomore Malachi Powell each got 11, and eighth grader Hunter McNaughton added eight.
