The Hopkins County Central and Dawson Springs boys' soccer teams traded goals Monday in Mortons Gap and fought to a 2-2 tie.
Dylan Simpson scored twice for the Panthers (3-5-2), while Jacob Parker and Issac Evans each had a goal for the Storm (1-8-2).
Evans and Joey French also had assists for Central, which led 2-1 until Simpson scored his second goal with four minutes left in the game.
"It felt like we played harder and were the better team, but we just had some mental mistakes out there tonight," Central coach Ben Lutz said. "We left Simpson wide open two times, and the No. 1 thing we talked about was marking him and not leaving him open.
"I am proud of how hard the guys played. They played hard and looked like the better team, but we just let a couple of mental mistakes keep them in the game."
