The Dawson Springs girls basketball team dominated Frederick Fraize ina 59-35 win in Cloverport Saturday.

The Lady Panthers (9-13) used a 25-point third quarter to blow past the Lady Aces (8-16) and hand Frederick Fraize its eighth straight loss.

Dawson junior Brooklyn Cotton scored a teamhigh 18 points, and senior Malaia Miller added 14. Denisha Randolph (7 points), Paige Hendrix (6), Erin Orten (6), Kaylee Simpson (4), Erin Woolsey (3), and Trinity Randolph (1) also contributed in scoring.

The Lady Panthers defense kept the Lady Aces to just 19 points through the first three quarters, and they limited all Frederick Fraize scorers to single digits.

The Panthers made the trek out to Cloverport to seize a 19-point win over the Aces.

Senior Dylan Simpson led Dawson Springs with 17 points, scoring nine in the third quarter. Freshman Braxton Cotton chipped in 12 points on the game. Juniors Austin Clark and Justin Putman added 11 apiece. Kevin Brooks put up 10, making that five Panthers who finished in double digits scoring.

Dawson extended its winning streak to six games.

Girls Basketball

MADISONVILLE-NORTH HOPKINS 64,

BUTLER COUNTY 54

Lady Maroons senior Molly Stone and junior Kalveona Pepper both had double-doubles in North’s 64-54 win at Butler County.

Stone led the team with 16 points and 17 rebounds. Pepper logged 11 points and 12 rebounds.

Irelane Enoch added 14 points and six rebounds. Brynin Carver went 3-of- 6 from 3 and finished the night with 12 points. Jayda Civils led the team in assists (4) and steals (4), while also tallying six points and seven rebounds.
