The Madisonville-North Hopkins diving team saw strong performances from both its boys and girls teams at the KHSAA Region One High School Diving Championship on Wednesday.

Javan Todd won the boys diving event for the Maroons, automatically qualifying him for the KHSAA State Championship Meet in two weeks. On the girls' side, North's Emily Locke and Mattie Madden finished first and second, respectively, giving them both a spot in the state meet as well.

The Maroons will compete in the swimming portion of the Region Championship on Saturday, and the points earned in those events will be combined with the points earned in Wednesday's diving events to get each team's total score.
