Fast Cats Classic: Christian Parker of Madisonville North Hopkins High School won the event in 15:59 on Saturday. Webster County finished 10th as a team and Dawson Springs was 33rd.
Ryan Roland of Webster County finished in 15th place with a time of 17:29. Teammate Trevor Baker was 27th in 18:01.
Tyler Weir of Dawson Springs was 118th with a time of 19:42. Webster County was the only team to post a score in the girls' event. The Lady Trojans finished 18th as a team. Hadley Mitchell of Webster County placed 81st in 24:16. Abby Harris of North placed 15th overall in 21:20.
KHSAA golf finals: Jackson Hill of Madisonville North Hopkins High School tied for 36th at the Kentucky High School Athletic Association state finals Saturday at Bowling Green Country Club. Hill finished with rounds of 75 and 81 for a final total of 156 for the two-day tournament.
Central at North District 7 final: Madisonville North Hopkins defeated Central 2-0 in the District 7 final at home Tuesday night. Will McClure and Zach Brown scored goals in the first half for North (13-5-4). Central fell to 7-12-1 for the season. Both teams will advance to the regional tournament to be played at North beginning next week. The all-district team was named following the contest. North players Alex Brooks, Zach Brown, Jack Dodds, Will McClure, Luke McElroy, Miles Peyton, and Logan Rainwater earned all-district honors for the Maroons. Central players Graham Foster, Chase Garrett, Colin Garrett, Emiliano Sifuentes and Carlos Sifuentes were also named to the team.
Central defeated Caldwell County: Julio Rivera-Mena scored the game-winning goal in overtime for Hopkins County Central High School in the District 7 semifinal at Madisonville North Hopkins High School on Monday. The game ended past the newspaper's deadline. Chase Garrett finished with 10 saves for Central (7-11-1).
Apollo at Central: The two teams tied at 1-all on Saturday during a rescheduled game. Jeshua DeLeon of Madisonville North Hopkins High School scored the only goal for the Maroons. Peyton Miles earned the assists on the goal. Niko Perez made five saves and Noah Questelle added four saves for North (12-5-4).
Webster vs. Union: Marissa Austin scored three goals as Webster County High School earned a 7-0 win over Union in the Division 6 district semifinal on Monday. Abbie Michalek scored a pair of goals and Mariah Austin and Brooklyn Conrad also scored goals for the Lady Trojans. Michalek finished with two assists in the contest. Kira Cavanaugh made eight saves in goal earning the shutout for Webster (7-6). The Lady Trojans will face Henderson today at 6 p.m. in the District 6 final.
Webster at District 6: The Webster County High School varsity volleyball team defeated Union County 25-10, 25-14 and 25-16 in the District 6 semifinal at Henderson County Tuesday night. The Lady Trojans advanced to the finals to play the host team. The Lady Trojans fell short in the District 6 championship losing in three sets to Henderson 25-16, 25-19 and 25-14. Maggie Jones finished with 13 kills, Danielle Payne tallied seven kills and Audrie Ellis created 12 assists for Webster (15-15).
Payne, Lana Eastwood and Savana Mason earned all-district honors for Webster according to the school's Twitter account.
